Description
No, it's not really abandoned, but for now it is. The tourists hasn't arrived yet, so it's all sunny and on the edge of summer, but still quiet. It's like the calm before the storm. Well, I thought it was perfect adding a cold and dark apocalyptic atmosphere to this piece of photography. I don't know what you think, but I kind of like it. It looked boring in its original colors, so I changed it with a few adjustments in Photoshop.Thank you for watching, please leave a comment!

That's what I thought too, when I was editing/processing this one. I was thinking of Terminator II, if you've seen this movie (of course you have!), the scene when Sarah is dreaming about that nuclear storm. And those children that used to swing each other are gone, and so on... That's quite a nightmare.

I really, really love this piece. Great contrast, composition, and it's conceptually strong.
I was wondering what kind of filters, settings, post-processing or whatever you used to get that stark contrast and really dark sky and atmosphere.

There are some new great functions in Photoshop CS3, like the new B/W function for adjusting contrasts in b/w photographs. I think I was using either a yellow or red filter there, and I used the hue/saturation and selective color tool too, for making the sky look darker by adjusting blue and cyan colors. When it was b/w I adjusted the color balance with a cool blue color, just to make it look colder. I guess that's pretty much it. Thank you very much by the way.
