(1) The dorsal rays should push forward (1) and extend smoothly over the caudal (2).
(2) For Halfmoons you should be able to draw a strait line XY along the caudal edges (180 degrees).
(3) The anal fin should spread out and down like a curtain.
(4) The bottom edge of the anal fin (B) should be parallel to the body line (A).
(5) You must be able to draw an arch from point A to point B without hitting a snag to have a perfect balance. This betta is not a perfect example but he is the best I could find to show you. This is the hardest quality to find/breed for but is also the most desired quality. Bettas that have this are often called “Fullmoon” bettas.
(6) The caudal should be perfectly strait. The edge should not be receding or chipped.
(7) These rules apply to females as well.
