i thought bettas could not live in the same tank? do they have to be the same color to live together?
but on one hand those are nice

Actually, bettas are very social fish, especially when they are fry. The ones pictured are all siblings and are only a month or so old so they get along just fine. At around 2-3 months the males begin being more aggressive towards one another and have to be separated out. The females can be kept together for their entire lives without many issues, regardless of color (aggressiveness has nothing to do with color). If you are an experienced keeper you can also keep ONE male with several females; though you have to keep an eye on them and remove overly aggressive fish. Bettas can even be kept with other types of fish as long as you take into account the temperament of both types.

Cool, the other guy on my other site who saw My fish tank design and what fish I have in there said that I need to have my Betta in a bowl by it's self. By this time My betta was getting alone with all of the other fish in the tank.
By the way I did not re-read this comment and I think you have already answer one of my questions that I have sent you.
But thankz for taking the time to answering

If you put lots of betta fish in the same fishbowl, they fight each other? I have one betta and I want to buy another, but don't know if I can

Yes, housing bettas together is dangerous and not suggested. The bettas in the photo are babies and have not yet become aggressive so they can be housed together without trouble. However, adult bettas will kill each other. Please read my "Does and Don'ts of Betta Care" article for info on housing bettas together.

(sooo sorry for the late reply, college killed me!)
I find it easiest just to set up a 5 or 10 gallon regular aquarium. They're a bit big, but you always end up wanting to put more in the tank than there's room for anyway so might as well start big lol

Hi... nice bettas...
I have 1 halfmoon betta (male) and I'll try to get a female for him... Do I have to get a white female to get white colored fishes after mating them, or it doesn't matter?
thanx

What color is your male? White is recessive but there are 2 types of white: cellophane and opaque. You want to still with your type or you'll get fry with patches and they aren't worth a lot. Also, you want to buy a super delta or halfmoon female, do not buy a normal female from like Petco or something. That would ruin your male bettas genes. Good luck!

Don't know how "white" my male is... It's like your female bettas in the picture...
Ok... So I will not get a normal betta... I'll try to find a half moon female... But I don't think I'll find one here in Sweden... Do you think it works with a crowntale female?
thnx agin 4 the help

Well, the problem with cross breeding is that you will end up with a less desirable batch of fry. Try buying from Aquabid.com. A lot of the sellers based in Thailand will ship all over the world.

Wow, you sure did produce some little hotties. I always intended to breed some platinum HMPKDTs, but... I never got around to it. Ended up breeding black lace HMPKs instead.

OH NOESS!! hahaha.
I want to breed him, but I have yet to find an opaque female plakat, and actually, i wouldnt mind breeding him with a female other than the little short tail devils, just as long as she is opaque.
yep. up to 11. :]

There are both girls and boys in the photo but the males looked a lot like the girls because they hadn't finished growing out their fins yet. The more distinguished males had already been separated.
