Description The harlequin (my own name for red, black and white bettas; he's really a marble copper HM). Well sorta, he's the replacement fish the breeder sent me for the original Harly who was DOA. Pic of the first Harly: [link]
I'm a little disappointed since the first one had had much more red (which is what I wanted) as well as better finnage/form etc... But every fish is unique. These two were brothers so at least the new one should be carrying red in his genes. This little guy is growing on me though, he's got spunk I still need to name him and I think it will be something related to samurai since he appears to be wearing armor? Anyhow, he's a little rebel.

Oooh niiice Shame about the first fish, but this guy looks like he has a nicer topline N a bit of the DT gene too Im guessing *likes big dorsals*

Oh yes, this guy is definitely caring the DT gene in there somewhere. He does have a really nice dorsal, but his anal fin doesn't spread right! I should be able to breed that out though. I'm really looking forward to breeding him, I'm sure the fry will be fantastic!

He's GORGEOUS <3 Wish I lived closer to you, I would so buy some of these beautiful fellows from you. I never knew there was such a huge variety of bettas until I started watching you, the only ones I see around here are always blue or red. Love these fish.

Do definitely tell me, because I am interested. I think he has slightly more character color wise than his brother. Gorgeous <3 How much do you sell them for? And do you have guarantees? Shipping etc..? Feel free to note me, because I am serious! haha.

I have to say he's really growing on me! I'll be keeping DA updated on the progress of the offspring of all my pairs this summer (I'm also breeding these two males [link] and [link] ). Depending on how the finnage and color come out, the fry will probably be in the $10-$20 range (we'll see--I paid $20 for each parent lol). I have a live arrival guarantee on express shipping ($30-if DOA then fish is replaced 100%, but not shipping), and priority to a lesser extent($15-I haven't lost any yet *knock on wood* but I'd work something out). Thank you for taking such interest in my fish! I really can't wait to work with them and the fry this summer

b-arracuda In reply to DarkMoon17 [2011-04-22 03:58:15 +0000 UTC]

Maybe I'll get a couple, because I really like 'Mr. Power House'. I've had fish shipped to my house before, and luckily no DOA's, however 1 of them was very stressed out over the ordeal, and contracted ich, and died, exactly 1 day after the 14 day guarantee. Haha, but the rest are all thriving. And you would ship more than one fish together as well? Thanks for the information, I think my fish were shipped express last time (Not sure by which company but it cost me 45.00)

DarkMoon17 In reply to b-arracuda [2011-04-22 04:48:03 +0000 UTC]

I'll hold you to it! hehe just kidding... Awesome, did you get them from overseas? That's too bad, you just never know with fish unfortunately The brother of this one, who arrived DOA, had even been shipped overnight express. He was only in the box for like 14 hours...

Yep, I can ship up to 4 for the above prices, then it goes up $2 per additional fish. I also have heat packs for the colder seasons $45 really isn't bad for express, that's actually the base price for most of the transhippers I work with. You have to add the import fee and handling fee per fish to that. Gets expensive fast!

b-arracuda In reply to DarkMoon17 [2011-04-22 14:39:08 +0000 UTC]

No, he was only from California, from liveaquaria.com. I purchased 3 Krib Cichlids, the two regular ones are still here, my albino died. I had him shipped to my work place too, to make sure I'd be able to accept the package and get them home ASAP, he still didn't make it.

Approx how long is it before the babies are ready to leave, after their born? I've got several questions, I know quite a bit about betta's and cichlids, but you can never know enough, right? Haha. Do you have a picture of the soon-to-be mommies on here?

Well actually, there are a couple of his brothers for sale on Aquabid right now but you would have to do the whole transhipper thing

He's gorgeous! I've found myself addicted to looking at AquaBid these days. lol. I don't know how much of a hassle it would be to do the transhipper thing though or how costly...

DarkMoon17 In reply to toxxxic-kitten [2011-04-22 02:43:52 +0000 UTC]

I know right!? I've been spending so much time on it latly, I'm pretty sure schools suffering from it! I just bought a few more, can't wait until they get here! I'm considering making a journal-tutorial to explain transhipping to people since a lot of people as about it, it really isn't too difficult

toxxxic-kitten In reply to DarkMoon17 [2011-04-22 15:52:17 +0000 UTC]

I would love if you would!! I've been thinking about picking up some that are located here in the States until I understand the whole transhipping thing. Thailand seems to have a TON of more awesome Bettas. lol.
