His tanned hands working fast and with precision, closing up the patient he had taken off the last island. With a sigh he finally pulled off his mask, revealing his sweaty face from all the work. “You can go now, (y/n).” He said as he started to throw away his blood stained gloves, showing his tattooed hands and fingers to the world. You nodded slowly and opened the door to leave his presence. “(y/n).” his voice was not any louder than normally, but you still heard it and turned your head over your shoulder, eyes watching him from the corners. “Thank you.” He whispered. Your lips tugged up to show him a smile. “Always a pleasure, captain.” You said back softly, voice soothing his tense body.

Your footsteps sounded through the empty corridor as you walked to the door leading to the deck of the submarine. The door creaked as you opened it and a mental note was made to oil the hinges soon again. Cold air filling your lungs as you walked out into the dark night. Railings calling for your presence you would gladly oblige as you leaned against them, back facing the ocean. Head tilted upwards as your eyes trailed over the twinkling stars and the full moon above your form. Lips forming a sigh and the warm breath misting as it hit the cold, salty air. Humming filled the quiet night as you closed your eyes and swayed slightly from side to side.

The sound of screeching of an opening door rang through the nightly air, but the silently dancing girl didn’t pay any mind. Steps thudding as silent as possible towards the girl and hands reaching forward, just to hover some inches away from her form. In the dark we stand apart. His hands never daring to touch, never daring to disturb your time of peace, of quiet, of content. Stormy eyes following your movements with a feeling of comfort as his lips formed a small smile, something foreign to be found on his face. As he closed his eyes he missed to see the thing he needs when it stared at him with (e/c) orbs. A smile tugged your lips as you took his hand and pulled Law’s body towards yours.

His eyes opened wide only to see your eyes closing slowly once again, swaying his body from left to right, synchronic with yours. A peaceful face domitated his features as he felt your warmth defeating the cold of the darkest night he had seen in a long time. It was in times like these, times Law would be haunted by nightmares, Law would think about how silly you could act sometimes. Dancing in the cold night was one of these acts. Whether you knew about the nights he had to conquer or not, he would feel glad you were there with him. A presence for him to hold on to, one to feel safe with next to the feeling his crew would give.

The smile tugging his lips was hidden away in the crook of your neck as Law lowered his head, leaning on your shoulder as he pulled you closer with his hands on your waist. “I don’t want to stand alone when I need someone.” His thoughts clouding his actions as he pulled away from you. One hand resting on your cheek you leaned in, Law’s head lowered towards your face.

His timid side only showing when you were alone, you leaned forward to meet the tanned man halfway. Your hands resting on his shoulders, stretching toes to come higher for him, your lips finally touched briefly. His stormy eyes staring at your (e/c) ones, his hand pulling your form as close as possible, fearing you would disappear when he let go, Law kissed you once more. Smiling into the kiss, your fingers intertwined with his raven black locks under his fluffy hat. At the time of disconnecting two pairs of lips, the stormy eyes were at rest and you nuzzled his nose with yours. Fear safely hidden away, bad memories clouding his mind as you left his desperate arms.

“Take your time, Law.” You whispered as you continued the humming sound from your chest, singing softly for the captain. “You’ll find it.” A voice so soft, being barely audible with the crashing of the waves. Your lips mouthed the words of the song stuck in your head, arms wide, eyes closed and body twirling in circles. Law watched with amusement and laughed when you fell on your butt. A chuckle left your lips as eyes locked with each other. You were his chance to see the light in his darkest nights. His feet dragged him to your form as his hand took yours, willing to help you stand to only fall on your form when you tugged him down. “Just let me in.” You whispered in his ear.

“I’m not leaving you, Law.” You whispered and Law closed his eyes as he leaned down to you. Bodies lying with hummed music on deck of the submarine. A dark sky above them, emphasizing the shining stars as little lights, and a resting mind. No, the captain of hearts couldn’t ask for more. Law couldn’t ask for more than just you as you helped to chase his monsters away.
