Description This description has two parts now: about game and about making the drawing. First the game description:

Today i drew fanart - for the Ib game, creator of which can be found here: kouris.blog.shinobi.jp
It's really good, a classic & very pretty in it's design so hey, check it out ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

If u ever checked my game interests or just simply saw how i drew Garry once or twice in the past, (along me sometimes making it's OST  be a theme for the day)
u would know that Ib fanart would return to my page once again eventually.

This is the lady in red, one of the enemies you encounter. Basically there are ladies in blue, green, etc. but all of them want your rose. They tear it apart, they chase you for it, basically they are rose connoisseurs. I really liked this explanation of what would happen if the rose was destroyed and i adored that the game had a scene such as this at some point

Hope it looks ok cuz' this site sometimes messes up my colors :/

Technique description:
Because this drawing will be in my new 'art notes' gallery, i wanted to tell you exactly how it was created. Share the method, if i can call it that. This technique was used in one of 'knkl show' episode, and it is a very pleasant method for picking colors, which i was struggling with.

~For this, i recommend you watch out your layers. It's easier to fix your mistakes when you have them on separate layers afterall.~

Basically, you start with using a dark & de-saturated bg. Don't pick colors from my painting though, these went through filters - Besides, you should pick a color that suits your needs ;3
(be careful. use the color you are the most happy with as background or as a theme.)

Do a sketch, plan out your objects/shapes etc. make sure you see it on your background if you are planning to leave the lines or do whatever if you will be overpain(t)ing it.

As i said before, this trick is mostly for people who want colors to work with each other. We are treating the bg as a huge base-color right now (also called the mother-color), so any color that you lay on it with opacity lowered will mix and work with it.
The thing you will be doing is laying the brightest and most saturated colors onto the background using varying opacity.

Where this color is the most intense, pressure & opacity should be at 100%.
Then, in places around that color (where the light goes not intensively, where the light divides and disperses) use smaller opacity and pressure so it mixes and blends into the background.
You can even add some slight and almost invisible splashes of that color where the light would bounce to, or maybe go all the way on some random edge. This color literally can represent light and how it travels and what it touches.

If it does not look like a splash of color on a mundane background, either use some filter sliders to change the color splash itself (this is where the saturated and bright color layer is tweaked) or do it over again. It may look like this:

sta.sh/0f9vm55trsc

I trust that you see how your brightest & most saturated colors (because maybe there are multiple colored objects in your painting?) mixes with your background. It's interesting, right?

Here is an interesting fact that may explain half of it - when you have a dull background, it's easier for the colors stand out on it ! Colors look different if they are closer to other colors, because contrast works differently. It's a little brain trick that you can see in the-same-gray picture , or the color-cube , or the dress illusion , or by just posting the same color in completely differently colored environment.

The thing is, when you have one nice color and a background that lets you focus on it, it's easier for you to continue. Because this isn't actually the end~

Now that you have your dull base bg and saturated main color that you can't look away from, you can play around and finish coloring the object. The point of this technique is for you to take the colors from others mixing - and apply them - changing them slightly for more variety.

You can introduce some completely separate colors on low opacity under your brightest colors, too.
You can take the color that came from the mix and spin your color wheel not changing other aspects and see if it fits - or you can take the color from the mixing and instead of spinning the wheel, move your slider of saturation or value.
The bg is dull, but it does not mean your shadow color needs to be! You can either take the color from the mixing and darken it to your liking, or you can choose a random color and mix it in with the background just like you did with your brightest color!
You can also use some other random color for light as well, on top of your first most saturated color or as a second light!
(though keep in mind that if the light is more saturated, the shadows are more de-saturated. [and if the shadow is saturated, the light is most likely not saturated])

In theory it sounds more complicated than it is, but the thing that matters is fun. Spend as much time as you like working on this, this is only helping you pick colors up - you are the one who spreads them and tweaks them.

Have a good day~

Running away screaming in fear! I KNEW IT! ART IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!!
Also I was terrified watching the gameplay. So many scares, that my stomach was twitching at the end.

You did great on this one. The hair strands looks life-like and the clothing looks like those fabrics in paintings.

Glad it worked out!

I think a few scares is a fair trade for a good multi-ended deep game no? (0ω<)〜☆

The game is very nice, especially if you play it multiple times - since there are a few endings - and actually enjoy the soundtrack it provides.
It does not have elements that i don't like and goes pretty deep into understanding artistic mind, from a few perspectives no less, all from different 'artists'. It's pretty cool, i think.

It's a nice short game, and the message is pretty simple.
I'm sure if u play it u would like it, it really does not show it's age and still has some secrets nobody figured out which is awesome ~

If u never seen/watched/played it, boi, experiencing everything for the first time could be a very informational and thought-inducing experience for u. *wink*

Not gonna lie but i also can't wait for your reaction.
It's a deep game, and i really hope you like it (even tho it takes some time to get to know all of it)
Maybe u will feel inspired! Weren't you fighting an art-block recently? There is no better remedy than a game about art
