Want to know how this came to be? Check out this simple tutorial I've developed after gaining some knowledge from classes in Analysis and Form (via Academy of Art university).

Anyways, this was awesome fun to do.

This is by no means accurate but I'm doing my best to get it as close as possible.

We were really lucky to have the opportunity to choose any cartoon character to be rendered with the Five value system for Analysis of Form class.

Jasper strictly told us to print out a line-art version of the cartoon of our picking to be rendered. My choice? Sonic the Hedgehog naturally (technically Shadow).

I didn't want to go astray from the given assignment (which is going to be assessed), originally I wanted to draw from scratch and render it smooth like I did with my other homework (for Figure Drawing class).

Working on this homework was really insightful since it got me really thinking about where light would bounce off the form/object. I'll discuss this in depth in my next journal entry.

Homework was completed with 4B charcoal pencil, kneed eraser, precision eraser, index finger and tissue. Total time was about two hours (I was really into it that I'm starting to learn better how light and shadow works for more complicated shapes and forms).
