It's not fun being ill this whole week.
I'm still recovering and had to miss some classes but I am on track despite only being two weeks away from finishing my first semester at the Academy of Art university.
I have Colour and Design class tomorrow and I'm desperate to do something fun after spending too much time resting and charcoal work.
Just playing around with colours and painting Sonic away on Photoshop, now I gotta go get into some gouache, or maybe more sleep (and the game of drinking plenty of water).

Ha ha, I've always wanted to draw it that way to be honest - Ashworth was the one who got the dark eye liner treatment but not to the cartoon expertise that is applied like Evan's!

This is a nice piece of work that continues to show the growth of your skills and as you explore further into the aspects of digital colouring and inking. Β The variety here certainly shows how you are adventurous to trying different approaches in the media and colour theories in order to allow the best of your style to stand amongst the crowd. The various colour palettes along with your rendition of sonic certainly put him in interesting light, showing various graceful or potent attitudes based on the warm of cold tones you've worked with. Additionally, the features of the various brush strokes you've played with work well with giving the impact of the body language and look of the facial gesture of each single sketch that you've drawn out. Overall there is a lot here that shows just how far you've continued to grow and that with these new aspects of colouring and inking your work is taking a new trail of interesting proportions to what you are capable of for the future.

I'm learning some invaluable stuff from this school. Being surrounded by like-minded and inspired artists and learning from professional instructors in person is something that money can't buy.Β
At the end of the day I'm not truly an artist, but someone who appreciates art in a proactive sense.

Watercolors is something I haven't tried myself (the real deal, non-digital stuff!), I need to give those a go next semester along with oils and acrylic!

I am sorry you are sick man. If it has to do with a cold or that kind of jazz, I recomened taking Zinc, it's a mineral that boosts your immune system. Thanks to it, I have not been sick since 2007. Get well soon my friend!

Funny thing, it's only been a few days ago that I decided to invest in Vitamin C and Biotin pills for supplements. Gonna give them 100 days to test out.Β
I haven't tried Zinc but I did try having a multivitamin (like Swiss multi-vite for Men) and fish oil combo for two years last time.
Anyways I'm getting a little better now, thanks for the feedback as usual Kiki!

Try echinacea pills(immune system pills) I take one every time I get sick. Or try some Alka-Seltzer Cold Plus(work great for colds)Β Β feel better!

Being sick can do a real number on you, so I'm really impressed you mustered all you had to get this finished and on time no less. That's definetly something to be admired in a person. But I didn't know it'd be -that- cold on your end of the country! I thought the cold temperatures were only on my side and up in the north. So no wonder you've gotten sick. x_x
You really deserve to do something fun after all this stress and hell you've gone through. So hang on until tomorrow and it'll all be worth it.

Hang in there Darkspeeds for your first semester.
Judging by the color swatches you used to color Sonic,
I can see the contrast between Sonic and the background by the compliment colors (blue & orange).
The light source is very clear, yet I'm concerned for the darker values that are already too dark
& too desaturated in becoming black and the same applies with the whites.
Feel better soon.
Luckily the weather's going to be a bit warmer
from the 50s to the 60s range.

The weather finally died down a bit today, it was like the 30 - 40's range that we experienced in California. Still it's nothing compared to what's happening in parts of the East coast...
