Description
Despite much time passed, I still like this one.Itβs another attempt at a real-life anime character and since by that time I was a big (and I mean big) fan of Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing, who else could I pick up for my experiments?
I imagined him grown up, carrying out a legal job (for once!) in the Preventers forces. Although I doubt the military would allow him to keep his hair long, I thought that he would cut his own hand rather than get rid of his braid. Besides, if he cared of rules, he wouldnβt be him, right?

I used watersoluble pencils and acrylics, for some minor details, on cotton paper.
Then I just scanned it.

that's amazing traditional work, i have to use traditional means and seeing pieces likes this makes it easier to think i can make great coloring with my paper and pencil set^^.

It's very difficult to transate anime into real life (even more so to make them look older on purpose) and still have the resemblance to the actual character. You did a very good job - it's very believable ^_^

I am completely awestruck by the level of brilliance this piece represents. I love Duo (and for that matter, most of the Gundam W cast), but what you have done here, blows everything out of the water.

Oh man, this is so frickin' awesome. I love when people do realism of anime characters well, and this has to be one of the best I've seen, the eyes are gorgeous. As a curious aside, for some reason the face reminds me a tad of young Harrison Ford- did you use any specific model for this or completely off the top of your head?

To answer to your question, I used a model, but he is not Harrison Ford. He was a not very famous fashion model of whom I don't know the name. I just found a nice advertising and I used that picture. To be honest... he didn't resemble too much the final result. He was blond with short hair and perhaps a little bit older. But his picture was of great help.
