Description Can be purchased in my store when I'm accepting orders -->  darling-army.goodsie.com/gourd…

Geeky kids make geeky moms  I'm not one to plug other pages, but I wanted to share the awesome Totoro clocks my mom has been making =3 She uses gourds to make super cute things like vases, clocks, purses, bowls, and hair clips. Everything is done by hand from the wood-burning to the mixing and application of the dyes! My favorite by far are her super cute Totoro designs XD She fell in love with Totoro during our trip to Japan a couple years ago and has been making Studio Ghibli stuff since! She finally made some extras of some of her designs to try selling on Etsy. Everything is one-of-a-kind since gourds grow so differently  >_<  We list each item one at a time since we can never guarantee that they can be closely recreated.

Not spamming you guys to buy XD Just telling you guys to stop by her site and check things out! (And maybe give her some words of encouragement since she's nervous about starting out!). She doesn't have a dA (and altogether sucks at computers), so I'll display her stuff on my account  =3  I run her Etsy shop anyways  XD

Haha. She loves unsure Totoro rather than big smile Totoro. She's only ever made one thing where he's smiling  XD

Wait, what? Am I being stupid by asking how come the gourd doesn't just go off and shrivel up or something? O.o

This is amazing btw

I believe gourds naturally dry into a hard shell.

That's a creative idea! How small is this gourd clock, I ask?

DarlingArmy In reply to laopokia [2014-05-13 15:15:59 +0000 UTC]

I think this particular one was seven or nine inches tall? She's made them as tall as 14 inches. It all depends on what size gourd she picks
