I'll have to second that it appears to be a Queen butterfly. At any rate, it's wonderfully captured. It's a shame you couldn't get any closer.

Yeah, I would have loved to get closer, but I would have had to crush some flowers to do so (my macro lens is 100mm prime - no zoom).

I think it's rather a closely related species to the Monarch called the Queen (Danaus gillipus).
