Been out with a cold for a week now and after seeing Thomaslady9404 's winter theme, I decided to make one myself relating to my experience.

The cold season has started again and while steamers love this kind of weather, diesels despise it. Not only they have to carry extra sand to attain better traction, but also they have cold starts, which they don't like doing. Roderick was suffering from a clogged radiator fan due to snow and on his way to Harwick, his engine automatically shut down when the fan wasn't working to prevent an engine fire.

He tried his best to do a cold start, but his engine won't turn over, only sputtering cold, grey diesel exhaust. His driver Diana had to call in some help and soon after, Mavis and George arrived to help the P42 start up - otherwise they'd shunt him to Vicarstown for repairs. Frieda also passed by, concerned about her lover's health.
