H.P. Lovecraft was a goofy little bigot but he had the good sense to let his buddies play with the concepts that dribbled out of his little thumb head. The Seal of R'Lyeh is a story about a man and a woman, the Narrator and the mysterious Ada Marsh, trying to unravel the secrets of the narrator's sorcerous uncle; him to understand the man, and Ada for the sake of the cult of the deep ones. After a long cat and mouse game of spying and intrigue, the both of them turn into deep ones together, and wade into the ocean to find sunken R'Lyeh.

It is, to this day, the most romantic thing I've ever read.
