Description The 'k' is intentional. Design for a gothic style house called Gothick House. The steep gables with lacy carvings around the eaves are somewhat inspired by the American take of the Gothic Revival of the nineteenth century (not that there was an original Gothic to be revived there). The turret is a bit French and the tower, bay window and porch Puginesque. I do love Pugin. Before he went mad anyway. He'd probably find this a bit too impure, as indeed it is, hence the 'k' on 'gothick'.

I've never been a fan of the Gothic revival, for the most part. Too ecclesiastical. But this sketch is... marvellous!

Nice work .. I like the none symmetrical Medieval layout too, looks like he didn't get effected by Elizabethan and Jacobean styles and just went from 13th to late 19th cent style LOL ... When you building it ?

No need for playstations when you have minstrels, passion plays, quests, pagents, tournaments, pilgrimages and crusades to keep you amused, and there's something to be said for hand written illuminated manuscripts and general ignorance.

Minstrels ? I prefer M&M's LOL though the galaxy ones are rather nice

As for pilgrimages I seriously need to get over to Bardsey Island some time for some pics or maybe even St Davids .. though when they get the bloody fuel prices sorted out I may head over to Lindesfarne that would be cool for stock ...

Maybe an illuminated manuscript css journal ? (don't go nicking my idea I have been wanting to do an Anglo Saxon pictish one for a while .. though I have noticed that they never had a K in the lindersfarne chronicles or book of kells so makes CausticStock a bit of an issue LOL

They used to say that two pilgrimages to St Davids earns equivalent grace to one to Rome, and two to Rome earns the same as one to Jerusalem. I've been to St Davids twice and Rome once, so I'm spared having to go to Jerusalem now, in that case.

A lot of pretty borrowings, but it works really well together. I've often fancied having a go at conjuring up a drawing of the House of Usher, but I'm too lazy.

I must re-read that creepy little story. I'd like to see you draw that anyway, the House of Usher.

Well I suppose it just has to try harder then, doesn't it? Not getting to talk to you in a while still makes me sad.

And yep, it's a house that could definitely do with a Thing or two.

I'd love to live in a house like this one. Gothic styles are always my favorite type of architectual designs, especially on cathedrals.
