Game Maker 8. I used trigonometry to calculate the correct size scaling for the sprites. When I started, I had a large scrap sheet full of calculations.

Thanks, I've been working on perfecting the code for it mainly, so it looks the same right now, between version 0.1.0 and version 0.1.2. Believe it or not, it took a week and half between those versions when nothing the viewer sees changes. I might want to release a demo of version 0.1.0 today, I'll talk to my partner about it.

...Ok. I didn't really get what you were saying but I'm guessing that a demo of this engine will be released soon (probably today) When will the full version be avaliable?

Sorry, I like to use a lot of commas and that confuses a lot of people, including myself. Whoops. Basically, I said that you won't notice the updates between most versions as I'm only improving the engine most of the time to run faster and be even more simple to edit. I will try to see if I can get a quick demo up today, but it isn't much. It's the start of the battle system with Tackle as the only attack. The purpose is to showcase the zooming system so far.

Eh... you could say that most of it will be finished in a month. After the main mechanics of the battle engine are finished, I have someone who could input moves for me while I work finish up on the overworld system. After that, the only things left would be useless features. I have to get past this week(finals week) and then I will kick into overdrive. Sound good?
