Ok, seriously, what the hell is up with the random encounters rate of this game!? Not only it's super annoying to get engaged into a battle every 2 steps, but the ennemies are freaking brutal most of the time! Stuck at Spookan for the moment, but I'll take a break from that madness.
I do NOT recommend anyone who wants to give the series a try to start with this game. Play "Earthbound" and "Mother 3" first, and THEN only if you are motivated enough try this one. It has not aged very well: the battle system tends to get on my nerves a LOT, PSI moves can give you a headache because of the flashes.
But, it's interesting to see how Earthbound has improved so many things, and how a lot of things are in both games (music tracks, ennemies, atmosphere/environnement). I do like the story, the characters and the environnement. Also, the soundtrack has its charm.
