I had this as my desktop last Halloween, then I switched it out to Wreck-it Ralph. Really ironic seeing that the original Splatterhouse was the key turning point in the ammounts of violence and scariness in games ("When did video games get so violent and scary?!")

I think it's in context really I don't think it dawned on me until Mortal Kombat with photos of people sprites ripping heads off I was like uhmmmWOW

Well he was asking when did games get so violent and scary, and he was asking from the hero's standpoint not the bad guys (well he is friends with Satine from Satan's Hollow and he knows that he can get scary at times, and of course he saw Kano rip out Cyrril's heart at the meeting). From a gaming standpoint the earliest this occured for the villains was in 1986 with Chiller (as demonstrated by Pat the NES Punk's review ([link] )) but for the heros, it was Splatterhouse which was 100-gallons of High-Octane Nightmare Fuel and violence turned up to eleven, so much that it was banned in US arcades for a long time until Mortal Kombat popularized it

Anyone can give that shitty franchise 'call of duty' a positive review but thanks to critics who said this game was apparently "so bad!" the Splatterhouse Remake won't get a sequel.

awsome i love splatterhouse back in the 90's though being only like about...6 or 7 years old when i first played it all the way to part 3 i thought it was a new jason based game cause ricks mask lookede a bit like jasons in those 90's 2d graphics and i didn't pay much attention to the story back then lol

Happy to note that this is the art that Namco used for the manual to the game, i woulda prefered the art from the Fangoria cover, but all of the art is so badass that i'm glad its getting used, thankx Dave!!

Honestly I don't think an artbook is in the works. So after the game hits November 23rd I'm gonna post everything I did on it up here
