Description PLEASE FULL VIEW!!

I mentioned before that this was one of the most difficult locations to get to. Dan and I had to climb through a tiny hole broken in a wall 8 feet above our heads over a cement staircase. We did this by laying a ladder down with the feet on the steps and the top of the ladder leaning into the hole, and then proceeded to climb across the gap between the rungs and the staircase. Once inside, I had Dan rub himself down with broken pieces of drywall and burned wood. It was great watching this kid, looking like an idiot, find clever ways of getting himself dirty. It really is a funny thing. It was a pretty ingenious idea, really. And the ladder was the ONLY way I could figure out to get INTO this most monumental of locations. Anyway, the entire D.R. series was shot for Dan's modeling portfolio, as everything he had previously put in his portfolio was very clean and calculated. This shoot really served to throw everything off.. A LOT.

As always, your comments and critiques are very much appreciated.

I'm not sure which I like better, the artist note thingy or the photograph!
For all your hard work, you produced a beautiful shot. The lighting is especially nice, it looks like he's seen the light and he's going for it.
All around, great job ^_^

Thanks so much!! I had to go back and re-read the description, as its been 2 1/2 years since it was even uploaded, and even longer since I shot it! I had forgotten about that! That WAS a crazy adventure! I felt like I was solving some mystery in a strategy game like Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones just to find a way into that room. There were hazmat suits lying around everywhere, which told me it most likely wasn't terribly safe to be working in that environment. Oh well. My whole photographic career has been full of these stupid ideas!

lol you're still alive and you have wonderful photographs as rewards. Your crazy ideas seem to work out for the better in the end, so why stop?
Keep up the good work

Thank you for the compliment that I JUST got. I don't ever come here anymore, except when a REALLY cool shoot comes along. When that happens, I like to keep dA in the loop, so you should stop by and give some feedback on the latest pieces!

lol I'm sure I will. You should get on more often though. Or do you have another site that you post your stuff on?
I'd like to see it ^_^

This one makes some really sharp sihlouetes, him against the light wall and the light metal pole against him. How his pose echoes the shape of the supports is really interesting. I like the upward look and pull, almost like he's climbing. Sweet shot

Thanks a lot. I love it when people actually give solid critiques. The only thing I thought was a little tacky was the fact that it almost looks like he's looking for hope toward the future. I always thought that was a really overplayed idea.. although it should always be true. It definitely wasn't my intention, but rather just the feeling I got after looking back at the photo.

I suppose you could equate any upward climb to hope, and the future is all we have to hope for, or what we all hope for.

Glad you're enjoying the comments because I'm enjoying the gallery
