That is a wonderful silloette! it is a classic shot yet not! old and contemparary at the same time which is what is great! I love the contrast!

thank you very much. you definitely won't find many of these in my gallery beCAUSE of that classic look. however, i DO have many different types of viewers going through this site to see my port. some of them are quite traditionalists. anyway, thanks a lot for the compliment!

how wood u change it to improve it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

daveainley In reply to yourbabydoll7 [2005-05-22 09:33:11 +0000 UTC]

i would reshoot it with a polarizing filter to bring out the contrast a bit in the horizon.

Wow, that is so awesome. I really love this shot. It isn't sappy as you said in one of your comments. I think it is anything but sappy. It captures the moment that the two are feeling, I think anyway...

So... yeah. Good job, man.

daveainley In reply to Tray7 [2005-05-14 19:40:07 +0000 UTC]

thanks a lot. well its a lot sappier than most of my stuff, right? even if it isn't sappy, per se? well whatever, i liked it too. i thinnk it could have turned out better, had i shot it with a polarizing filter on, but oh well. you live, you learn.... you love....you learn................................... .....you live, you love, you leeeaaa-eeaaarrn.

wait. strike that. reverse it.

Yes, you live you learn. However, it looks to me like you have already learned a lot. I couldn't freakin' take pictures like that if I wanted to. lol

You are awesome...you know it...accept the compliment and allow your head to grow an extra size...

daveainley In reply to Tray7 [2005-05-14 19:50:19 +0000 UTC]

my head will remain the size that it currently is, THANKS! (read that thanks all sarcastic and snappy-like, k?) my head is apparently already big on the literal scale, so i've been told. it doesn't LOOK big, but ... but... *whimper* ..and yes you could.

... It probably isn't all that big. I mean look at it this way... Even if it larger than most, it just means you have a bigger brain. So, see... its a win win....

Reminds me of some fairytale. Like they are waiting to get in a swan boat... I am such a sucker for silohette shots, so I can't help but love this. The couple loves this no doubt. There is some big money in shooting weddings is what I hear. I am going to shoot some film, black and white, for my cousins wedding. She wanted to hire me but I don't want that kind of pressure for such a special event. I am looking forward to it.

coolioolio, brotha man. a bit of advice for you if you do start shooting for money. know what materials you're going to need as far ahead of time as possible, and don't think about the wedding till you actually have to go. most stress in shooting weddings is self-induced, so the less you think, the less the stress. just make sure you are prepared ahead of time. you're a good photographer. you know you can handle it. and another thing... if at all possible, get someone to come along with another camera (an assistant who may even be able to volunteer their time) if you have one, have them shoot with a digital cam (high res, obviously). that way you'll be able to have a whole other shoot without extra expenses. it REALLY comes in handy. and if youDON'T get an assistant, make sure you have an extra camera handy, just in the rare event that yours malfunctions. i'll look forward to seeing your results. until then, take care and we'll talk soon.

your boy,
