Description This is my first own 22nd century design. The Leningrad class is a militarized version of the Olympus Mons class, armed with 2X2 Ultra Zeus laser cannons and six system-to-planet self-guided autonomous nuclear missiles (that means you don't have to be in orbit when you launch them - and you shouldn't be as the shockwave they make would probably destroy your ship. Don't ask what it does to where it impacts).

I imagine this ship as a resource-guzzling behemoth with only four of them built and were immediately scrapped after the war.

The four ships are the following:

UES Leningrad CHD-17 (yeah, it stands for 1917, the year of the October Revolution)
UES Komsomolsk CHD-18
UES Voronezh CHD-19
UES Kaliningrad CHD-20

Design based on Masao Okazaki's designs

One little thing I notice is the shadow the ship casts on the planet...it's too close as if the ship is onlya few yards away from the surface and if you ask me, that's cutting it a little close.

It's unintentional, the background is a NASA photo with that shadow being originally on it.

Nice one. This looks certainly like there are some teeth onboard! Interesting choice of names as well for the fleet of "destroyers".

In the Trek universe, there is still a Leningrad. aybe not St. Petersburg, but the name Leningrad was spoken aloud in Trek IV.

As for the others:

- Komsomolsk: A generic Soviet-era name. Komsomol is a collective farm, Komsomolks means like Komosmol Town.

- Voronezh: It's where my Great Uncle Jani fell with many of his fellow armymen with the Second Hungarian Army when Hungary attacked the Soviet Union. He is buried in Voronezh, too.

- Kaliningrad: originally the Prussian/Third Reich city of KΓΆnigsbeg, now a Russian exclave, named after one of Lenin's inner circle Mikhail Kalinin.

I made a mistake with the description. Komsomol is not the collective farm, that's the kolkhoz. Komsomol is the Pioneer Movement of the Soviet Union. So Komsomolks means Pioneer Town.

Tell that to a Romulan who sees one of the big nukes coming at his city. Or country. Or continent...
