Very nice work on this. Is there any idea on scale when compared to the TOS E?

So easy to forget the Spaceflight Chronology, but in the early days it was just about the only thing that plugged the gap. So forgotten in fact that most people are unaware that Rick Sternbach of TNG fame had a hand in the book's creation, sad since this is clearly a viable design lineage link between the NX Class and the Constitution long before 'Enterprise' was even though of. Nice.

Nice work.
Obviously from an era when Starfleet was designing its ships with a set square.
The nacelles are also HUGE!

Thank you!
This ship is about half a century before the Enterprise.

Dave! Beautiful work. I've had The Spaceflight Chronology since it was first published and have liked this ship in particular. Hope to see this one again!

It sure looks authentically older looking then the TOS Enterprise.
It's a shame that none of these ships are considered legally canon as they never made it on screen. Because they are really cool looking.

Thank you.
I always say, Screw canon, Trek needs its expanded universe. If it was good enough for Lucas' dream, let Roddenberry's dream be further elaborated.

Unfortunately, Lucas owns LucasFilms Ltd. so Star Wars is legally his to do with as he pleases, even letting other people add there stories to his (as long as it is canon to each other, so there are a few exceptions).
Star Trek is technically owned by Paramount Pictures and only Paramount. Roddenberry didn't have enough money to actually own his own work. (He was also a bit flexible on the story as originally the show didn't have a real plot.)

Yeah, it's a shame he couldn't get the rights of Trek.
I still say that canon shoud be expanded as long as the novels and other stuff do not contradict what was said or done in the shows. Some of them provide amazing background material, like "The Pandora Principle", which tells the story of Saavik, my favourite Trek character.

Cool!
Hey, you should join OGame, you'd probably like it... maybe you can even join my Alliance of space pirates (not really) in Uni16

OGame is a text based game where you build space fairing vessels (not for a while, though) and mines, and colonize planets and stuff...

I haven't scene a Baton Rouge-class in a while...
Will you be modeling any other ships from The Spaceflight Chronology?
