2011 Lion-O was way too bishounen looking for me. I actually enjoy the 80's series over the 2011 one. And I'm not saying that due to nostalgia goggles, I only started seeing 80's Thundercats in ~2009-2010-ish.

This is years late but this is such a dumb comment that I couldn't pass it up. He was "bishified" (ie simply made younger looking) because in the original he is mentally a child in possession of a grown mans body due to sleeping in a suspension chamber on a space ship that was escaping from his destroyed home planet. Which, narratively, is a pretty weak way to try to get little boys to relate to a fully adult character. In the 2011 series his iconic appearance is aged down to make for a more compelling and less cheesy narrative for its intended audience; preteen and teenage boys. And I say that while also loving the 80's run despite how goofy it is. lmao

Same. I just don't get bishounening characters that don't need it. I start watching 80's Thundercats at 2012-2013 and enjoy it. Sadly our TV stopped translation, thought people liked it
