And my obsession with Red continues...Pumpmonger and I have been throwing ideas back and forth for our proposed teamup/crossover of his OC Red the Paladin with my characters Tetsuko and Sonya. We're stealing being inspired by ideas from sources as diverse as 1960's Italian "sword and sandal" movies, manga, and Doc Savage novels.
Which, in fact, is the source of this peril; the saga The Golden Peril ("Doc Savage Magazine", December 1937; Bantam paperback #55) in which Doc is threatened with this method of execution. The threat is never carried out, however, so I have no idea how Doc would've escaped from this predicament. And by the same token, I have no idea how Red can escape death this time.
Perhaps she doesn't.

Brilliant work - in both art quality and theme. Amazing predicament. Even after hours, the rush of adrenaline as the blade pierces her skin would just about allow her to squeeze more out of her tortured muscles. For so long, at least.
Couldn't help but notice the cuts on her look awfully fresh... maybe the tyrant is entertaining himself as he waits?

Wow - that's a tough one. Perhaps she can swing herself to once side, drop down and push the sword to one side. Would take considerable strength and concentration... but then again.

I also miss Pumpmonger.
Mostly cause he left a whole bunch of Red stories unfinished and i would like to see some of them brought to a closure.
When you talk to him next time please ask him if he has seen my comissioned work of his character Nathifa and if he approves.
I hope he doesnt mind i borrowed her.
