Really amazing story set up.Β Tetsuko is wearing very bulky clothes.Β Which makes me believe that there will be a pay off where Tetsuko has to show off er amazing new body to her boyfriend.
Also, I do remember her boyfriend, and I remember him freaking out with her biceps when she started showing a bit of muscle before the muscle experiment happened.Β This is going to be pretty cool.

As everyone knows, Derelict - er, I mean Derek, wasn't anything to brag about to begin with, which brings into play some touchy self esteem issues for Tet-chan (i.e. why the hell does she bother with this low-life loser?) Also, one would think that out of concern for those she truly loved, the first people Tetsuko would want to inform about her 'change' would be her parents if only to let them know that she's alright and that she's still their baby (albeit a wee bit bigger). And then there's the predictable gym disaster - she just walks in the door for the first time post TF, and her reputation as a natural is completely shot as all of her "friends" dismiss her as the mother of all juicers. How's she going to explain that one - or are the "friends" really worth it? This installment could be a real test for Tetsuko in that she finds out who her real friends and loved ones are. (Why doesn't jerk-off ask her to sit down?)

"Derelict"
Seriously, though: you've touched on many of the same thoughts I've been having about the ramifications of Tetsuko's transformation. Fetish stories wherein the main (female) character experiences sudden, explosive muscle growth and is suddenly a sex symbol desired by everybody are common; I wanted to explore the consequences of her transformation in ways that at least approximate "real-world" circumstances (some of which you've already touched on).
Alas, Tetsuko's parents are no longer alive; they were killed in a traffic accident in Japan when she was 15 (why she's now living in the United States; I haven't covered these events in the comic itself yet, but I have quite a bit of backstory on my characters 
(The one thing working in her favor is that this happens at the beginning of summer break from college, which gives her about three months before she has to face some of her more casual friends. Yes, there'll be close friends (other than Sonya) who she'll have to "reveal herself" to before that time, but I haven't figured out who or how - or even if I'll show those - yet.)
As for "why⦠does she bother with this low-life loser?": Character flaw. Tetsuko is (or was, at this point in her life) only attracted to handsome dudes (and if Derek doesn't strike you as at least handsome, blame that on my poor art skills). "Hot" was pretty much her only criterion in finding a boyfriend: if you didn't fit her standard of physical attractiveness, you didn't stand a chance with her, no matter how well you treated her (or would have, given the opportunity). Unfortunately, she never seems to find the ones that are also kind and decent; Derek is merely the latest in a line of boyfriends who've charmed her at first, then started taking her for granted (I haven't shown this yet in the comic, but Derek can be very charming when he wants to be.)(I haven't shown this yet in the comic, but Derek can be very charming when he wants to be).  I won't say precisely "abusive"; she's never suffered physical abuse at the hands of her boyfriends, but they skate right up to the borderline of verbal and psychological abuse.  "Touchy self-esteem issues" indeed!

As others have said, I sense an imminent breakup, with an emphasis on the "break" if he's not careful with his words. We know Tetsuko isn't a violent person by nature, but if she perhaps decided to redecorate Derek's apartment the same way she redecorated Sonya's lab with Slade and his goons, I don't think anyone would object.
Another great page. And soon we're about to start getting to the really good stuff! Can't wait!Β

Personally, I don't mean any offense. But I think it's poor writing that Derek is a jerk right off the start. It implies that he's an abusive boyfriend, maybe not physically, but emotionally. To me, this makes the character seem one dimensional and uninteresting. I know, I know, the comic is about Tetsuko and her muscles and Sonya. But at the same time, it would have been more interesting if Derek was HAPPY to see Tetsuko first and then became disgusted with her.
Just some food for thought.

I don't have any problem with how he's portrayed here. I simply take it that he wasn't this mean to her to start out with, which is why Tetsuko decided to go out with him at first, but eventually it became apparent that he was really just a big jerk.
Sadly I'm sure it's happened all too often that, after being in a relationship for a while, one of the two parties comes to realise that the other is actually rather a dick, or that they've changed from the person they first appeared to be, or gotten meaner etc. I just see that as being the case here, especially since the dialogue in the flashback scene in the first comic gives me the impression that they probably haven't been going out thatΒ long (with Derek rudely reminding Tetsuko of one of his "rules" for the kinds of girls he likes to go out with; that doesn't strike me as the kind of thing you'd say to someone you've been in a long-term relationship with). So she's really only recently that she's started seeing him for who he really is.
And even before her transformation, Tetsuko strikes me as the kind of person who would only put up with that sort of crap for so long before saying enough is enough, so this confrontation was likely to happen either way. The only difference is now that scene is going to be significantly more awesome because she's just packed on over 250 pounds of muscle and super-human strength!

I think if you compare Derek from his first appearance in Incident at Ganon Labs, to the now Derek. He seems to of gotten smaller.Β
Though that could just be the comparison to Tet-Chan

I know you need the character to fill a role, but his "jerk-gearbox" seems to be hitting "overdrive."
This is reminding me so much of Monsters vs. Aliens.
Also, I think Tet-chan is giving away too much information.
