TCC = Tetsuko Cosplay Calendar

...So a couple of months ago I decided to catch up on some of the "classics" :wink: of late-'70s/early-'80s science fiction movies. I ordered Battle Beyond the Stars, Flash Gordon and Starcrash from Amazon.com (for about $30 total), and soon after receiving the shipment sat down and watched Battle Beyond the Stars, the one I was looking forward to the most, because of Sybil Danning's appearance in that enticing "Space Valkyrie" outfit. And as you no doubt noticed, I had Tetsuko dressed as "Saint Exmin" in the June 2012 TCC .

In the meantime, though, I've seen Starcrash, and I have to say I enjoyed it a bit more than Battle Beyond the Stars. Beautiful and sexy as Sybil Danning was in BBtS, she didn't play a big enough role; whereas the absolutely stunning Caroline Munro as "Stella Star" was the (pardon the pun) star of Starcrash. After watching the movie, I was a little disgruntled that Munro didn't become one of the biggest action-female stars of the early to mid-80's. (You also had to give props to a movie that would pull off something as gloriously stupid as giving a police robot a Southern accent :laugh

Be that as it may, I'm paying homage to Ms. Munro and Starcrash with this month's TCC.

(BTW: although I did see Flash Gordon in the theater when it first came out, I haven't watched my new DVD of it yet. But when I do... don't be surprised if an upcoming TCC features Tet-chan as Dale Arden. Or maybe Sonya as Princess Aura. Or both? )
