Description
Another wonderful bird to paint is the common kingfisher due to its striking colours. I've never seen one in the wild... until today!

When I took a small break from this painting to cycle a bit, I actually spotted one next to a canal, sitting on a branch! How is this possible - you never see a kingfisher in the wild, you paint one and see it the same day xD (might have been priming, but I'm often on the lookout for animals anyway and have been cycling this track for years) Nevertheless, it was awesome
