This piece is thoroughly enjoyable. I love the deep colors, blues and purples and splashes of fiery heat. The sky half-reminds me of Van Gogh and half-reminds me of Hubble photographs, and the dancer recalls for me both Tolkien's Luthien and the wonder and playfulness of my very rare childhood visits to the seaside. Definitely favoriting this.

I am touched by your comment on my piece. I think I was definitely inspired by both the incredible Van Gogh and the amazing photos of hubble (which is where I found my reference)
To be compared to Tolkien is a huge honor (and makes me think you'll love Donato's work!)

Thank you! Yes, his work is great, he's actually on DA DonatoArts . I always love when people get much more out of my paintings than I initially intended. I usually only paint for myself because I have an idea in my head, but it always seems to mature into something else
