Sailing into the sun and on to the unknown where only your imagination can hold you back, With strong effervescent colors and complex textures .Just found out im one of the finalists in a competition im in. Its now up for public votes -

Hi David, In this painting I love how you're isolated the boats by painting them in a different style than the impressionistic background. it connects me to the subject and makes me feel as though i, as the viewer, am existing in the regular world, but that something amazing and fantastic is transpiring around me. Like i am about to pass into a world of wonder.

I love the colors; everything blends. It makes the tone pop out and just...come in all together. Not a lot of people can pull off simple concepts of this it just never looks right. Unlike here, it`s amazing. Keep up the good work. Also, thank you for adding me to your DeviantWATCH list

I just love the simplicity of it. There are no harsh lines that define the horizon from the water. Which really draws your attention to the two boats since they are the only things with clear definite lines. I love the technique in which you painted it as well. Adding touches of green and orange to the blue of the sea really makes it stand out. I think my favorite part is in the sky. How the left has very dark and rich colors then as you move across they fade out into lighter more gentle pinks and yellows instead of the vibrant reds and oranges. Overall it is just a very beautiful well put together piece to look at.

This is a lovely work with great colors and energy. The sailboats seem to be drifting off into a dreamlike place.

Such a beautiful piece!
Specially the way the sky and the sea melt in one thing.
If i have something aganist this beautiful paint, is the color of (what i thinks is) the horizon; white. It breaks the ilusion of the sea (to me). Or it is mist?

Well the thing that I like most about this, is that at first I thought it was an abstract piece. But it was then upon further inspection, me clicking the thumbnail lol, that I took note of the sail boats. I really love the texture of the art work. Your brush strokes really help give this piece life.
I also like how you placed the boats. They are not in the center and the way you have placed the far left boat gives a sense of depth. The darker hue of red and orange also gives a definite difference that that area is possible land. If that is the case, then that is a very nice point of aerial perspective. If not then maybe i'm just over analyzing it haha.
I find this piece quite inspirational since 1. I fail at traditional art work and 2. One of my next assignments will be focusing on Color and Color theory and utilizing colors.
Anyway, you did a fantastic job bringing me into this colorful world.
