some sketches of a crested capuchin from my zoo class couple weeks ago. We were supposed to be drawing gorillas that day but it was too darn hot and so the gorillas werent out. Students voted and we headed to the capuchins and spider monkeys. This was the first time I had studied capuchins from life....so thought I would share my explorations....thicker more stout breed of monkeys, unlike the ape family, is one thing I found....quite cute actually, and nice that they were so mobile allowing us to get some good gestures along with varied studies.Related content

wonderful stuff. ireally like the shading in this. its really imressive that you captured them so good. were they not too fast? i always got problems with those apes jumping and running around all the time

i have been studyinganimal from life for almost 10 years now...so....it comes from practice

we used to boast the world's fattest lion
but he died tragically in february
probably due to heart complications. he was pretty cute though.
