Shouldn't Top Gun look more like Starscream? I mean, they're the same type of jet. o:

Nah - Starscream is typically an F-15 Eagle (in G1 at least), whereas the jet flown by Tom Cruise in Top Gun was an F-14 Tomcat

If you've seen Thunderstarwarp's Dangerzone for Starscream <[link] > You'd be inclined to make a Top Gun Picture For Starscream.

In a way, someone did. They made a F-14 G1 Seeker design: [link]

Now THAT would be an awesome character to see! I'd LOVE to see something like that in the movies! Great artwork by the way! The robot mode kicks ass! I especially like how you put Cruise's helmet design on the character!

this maverick's ego definitely won't be writing checks his body can't cash !
well-designed, davimus. by leaps and bounds more successful than a lot of the transformer movie-crossovers i've seen, to make no mention of the star-wars transformers. i would certainly pick THIS up in the toy-aisle.
the flight-suit mech-body works really well and you've nailed a very good likeness of robotized tom-cruise, what with the nose, smile and shades.

no problem, DC! this piece warrants lavish praise and many views. another aspect of this piece that really appeals to me is that the character seems to be a natural fit in the TF-universe. somewhat similar to the way in which [link] created in-continuity backstories for their celebrity-figures in the 80's (eg: sgt.slaughter and the fridge), your take on a TF-maverick is totally plausible w/in tf-fiction, unlike, say, the admittedly well-drawn ecto-1 transformer we spotted on DA sometime ago. apart from being kind of a shell-former, his "function" in TF would be ill-fitting. i suppose he could chase after starscream's ghost. i guess what i'm long-windedly trying to say is that not only is maverick an inspired design, but also more generally an inspired choice. i really do wish hasbro would render this in plastic. maybe we can sneak him a background cameo in geekbots? i can't quite remember if you signed up for any sequential-art duties though. ah well. it's up to me and urzu then...
