I recognize that! I was flipping through an old magazine with that ad on the inside back cover just this morning. I've always thought it was amazing.

Hi:
That piece was an interesting digression from the kind of jobs I normally get. A real breath of fresh air. I'm glad you like it so much. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

when i saw this on tv, i thought its all cg-animated. was it necessary to create it in clay, wouldnt it have been faster and easier with zbrush or some?
of course: great work!

Actually, nothing beats the look of a real object lit by real light. Like any other media, the devil is in the details and if you want that look, you gotta work your tailfeathers off for it. In short, nothing worthwhile comes easy.

Hi Ruan:
Thank you.
I love using polymer clays, but in this case, due to the large size of this particular project I used Le Beau Touche plasticene from Chavant.

Well, if we're to go down that particular interpretative path, it should have been a mass of bones with bullet holes in the skulls . . . .

I get the impression (haha, "impression") that the guy on Kentucky is Beethoven.

Hmmm . . . . Perhaps that's why I kept hearing the opening chords of Ludwig van's Fifth Symphony in my head as I was sculpting . . . .
