You couldn't be more spot on. Harris was a very talented actor and, based upon the comments of his colleagues, a genuinely wonderful guy also. It's sad to see him gone, but he did make a lasting mark as Dr. Smith. He'll always be remembered fondly for that role.Β

A valuable phrase, one of which I'd be lost without in today's world!

Hi:
Thanks for your message. I'm sorry to report that the good doctor's bust is no longer being manufactured and the original sculpture (which was created using oil-based clay) was destroyed long ago.Β

Thank you!
Ah, the good doctor! I remember watching "Lost in Space" with my brother as a kid. We used to get such a kick out of Smith's bantering relationship with the robot. Such are the things that good memories are made!
And to be paid to sculpt Dr. Smith many years later was an unbelievable stroke of luck. More importantly, I'm glad that this pleasure is communicated to others like yourself. Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts. Take care.

That show carries some of my fondest memories. And who didnt love the verbal sparring between Smith and the Robot. He had a rather interesting character arc from season 1 to 2 where he went from being a vicious saboteur to a lazy but well meaning coward. Mr Harris ended up creating something iconic with his portrayal that generations of people continue to discover.

Jonathan Harris had quite an acting career away from "Lost in Space". I've caught him in everything from "Twilight Zone" episodes to his voice over work on "Bug Story". He was a fantastic character actor who will be sorely missed. And yes, you're right: that was some trajectory for his character on "Lost in Space". Maybe he was softened up by a long-term exposure to the Robinson clan!

Yeah I followed his work for years and was tickled to death when he popped in Bug Story thinking that he had retired by that point. He was a very versatile actor and is indeed sorely missed.

Hi Andy:
That site is in serious need of an update! But where to find the time? It's the same old struggle that every artist has to face: How to divide one's time between creating or marketing your work.
Thanks once again for your generous feedback. I look forward to seeing more from you also! Until then, take care.
Best Wishes,
Curt
