I'm back with some more headcanons! Ain't you happy?!

Soo, I decided to draw all of my adopted next gen OCs' (Hev might be an exception... but we'll see) and opted to start with Raven Dusk, Luna's adopted bat pony daughter. Warning guys, the story below is really really sad. Like, really really depressing - I like to torture my favorite characters with tragic backstories, so yeah. Be prepared.

The stallion and mare above, Steelworker and Crepuscular Wish, were a happy couple living in a very small town outside Equestria, in the North regions. Despite a few bigots glowering at them because of Wish's appearance and species, they'd planned on getting married and go live somewhere else with their first foal, whom the mare was already carrying. Unfortunately, invaders occupied the small town and the area around it just days before the couple's wedding, but nobody was exaggeratedly worried since barbarians and soldiers usually spent little time there before moving away (seeing as there was absolutely nothing valuable there). Steelworker protected his mare fiercely in the first few fights, but the arrival of the clan's leader changed everything.
He was a peculiar looking stallion named Oasis, a violent and cruel battler whose origins were both Zebrican and Equestrian. His striped pelt betrayed clearly his Zebra heritage, and he belonged to the race called "zony" (zebra+pony) or "zonkey" (zebra+donkey), gifted of incredible stamina and adaptability. Though Oasis was extremely young, he was the most experienced mercenary among the ones who attacked the village, and didn't lose any time in making his intentions clear.

The moment Steelworker noticed the way the stallion hybrid lay his eyes on Crepuscular Wish, he knew they were both doomed. Blocked and fleshed with daggers, Steel wasn't able to do anything as he watched Oasis walk away, the chained bat mare few steps behind him. The heart-broken glance she threw at him was the very last they shared: she never managed to know what his destiny was, even though she can easily imagine it.

The invaders fled that same day and went back to their nomadic lifestyle dragging Crepuscular Wish with them. They often set up tents or more complex camps, and the mare always stayed in Oasis' luxurious lodging. When Wish, previously treated decently and left alone most of the time, started giving clear signs of her pregnancy, she was abused horridly and left to starve until Oasis was sure she'd lost Steel's foal. At that point, the mare had lost any hope and simply accepted defenselessly whatever her troubled fate presented her.

More months passed painfully and as soon as the exotic stallion decided he'd given Crepuscular Wish enough respite, Oasis' savage mistreatements began once more. Within the distance of some weeks, he let her catch her breath and seemingly forgot about her for shorter and shorter periods of time. After a whole year, Wish realized her greatest terror had become reality: she was pregnant with Oasis' foal. Conflicted thoughts and feelings raced through her mind: suicide was among the most considered, but she was certain that if she was caught during the act or if she failed in any way she would've suffered much worse. She eventually decided to wait and see how the tragic event would play out, behaving once more as a numb and helpless victim.

As the birth date got closer, Oasis started acting in a much more pleasurable way, treating the mare he'd violated as if he loved her and carefully ignoring the subject of the incoming baby. When the foal was born, a very small bat filly with her father's detailed markings and white socks (with the only difference that she had spots instead of stripes), the beatings and carnal assaults started again. It went on for a few more weeks, then Oasis suddenly stopped and was reminded he had to get rid of his bastard child as soon as possible, no matter how. Since the barbarians had reached the Everfree Forest during their travelings, he decided to leave the weak filly at the opposite edge of it, the part facing the small town of Ponyville. Now completely devastated, Crepuscular Wish didn't even try to fight her abuser anymore and let herself die in agony.
Shortly after, Oasis lost his life (though nobody knows if purposefully or not) during a bloody battle with the Royal Guards, who'd finally located the despicable criminals. The rest of the clan was imprisoned, but Wish's corpse was never found.

Fortunately, a few days later the Princess of the night noticed a young bat pony filly hidden in the woods, and rescued them to take care of her as her own child.

See? I'd told you. Tragic, I know, and probably cliché as well. But the idea really hit me so I couldn't help but add it to my AU. Tell me what you think about it and the drawing itself!
