Description
There, finally gave a design to '2 Honey Ponies which I "adopted" in my headcanon o3o Sadly, my stupid scanner made it look like I made no shading at all on the pony on the left, but oh well. Also, I have another thing ready to post as soon as I finish its writing (yes, I was particularly inspired)! Anyway, let's go with the headcanon for these guys :3

The Flutterpony is a family which "contains" the following main species:
- Breezies
- Changelings
- Honey Ponies

Changelings and Honey Ponies are the biggest species of the Flutterponies. Their size is more or less the same as a normal pony, if not slightly smaller, so around 5 ft (150 cm). They both live in a strict monarchy and their rulers are, respectively, Queen Chrysalis and Queen Beautifly .

The Honey Ponies, also known as "the Good Changelings" are very light and usually a bit shorter than their "cousins". They have no fur, nor feathers and their skin is very soft and smooth. They can't spend too much time in the sun, nor in complete darkness, because they'd get burnt or freeze to death: as reptiles, these Flutterponies are cold blooded and their internal temperature depends completely on the surroundigs. When they're healthy and happy, their skin produces a dense yellow-golden substance which reminds of honey, but isn't actually honey. It's used to protect the eggs and to feed the newborns until they're able to eat what's in the adults' diet.
Honey Ponies are only females and can lay eggs even without any fecundation; only their Queen is infertile and has never had (and never will) any foals. Children are born blind, deaf and with too little strength to stand on their own legs. They start flying very early, though; they're very "responsible" and learn quickly.
Honey Ponies are not very agile and fast in flight, nor can they use any type of magic or disguise. Because of this almost complete lack of fight resources, they are very peaceful and not at all warlike. They live in a very large territory of forests, lakes and big prairies where nobody else could find them.

Changelings are much heavier and stronger than Honey Ponies and have a large arsenal of different weapons, from the venomous stings on the tips of their wings, to their sharp teeth and advanced magic. The latter, however, is specialized in only one type: disguise. And, unfortunately for them, changing one's appearence costs a lot of energy and lasts little time. Only Chrysalis can cast more and powerful spells, but she usually is the hungriest and... "weakest" of the hive because her duty is to feed her subjects.
Also the Changelings's scaly black skin produces a sort of "cream", but in the opposite situation compared to Honey Ponies: this means, when the creature is starving to death. And the slimy substance is used to create the envelope in which the Changeling will die or, in other cases, in which the egg will hatch. Chrysalis is the only female of the swarm and behaves just like common Honey Ponies: she lays eggs which don't need to be fertilized by males. The foal is usually abandoned to himself and none of the Changelings takes care of him until he starts to release the green ooze and signals his complete submission to every other member of the swarm.
Starvation is the main cause of the death amongst Changelings. They feed off love, but never really find rich sources and tend to go from creature to creature until they're almost satiated (which happens very rarely anyway).

There's been a time, long before Celestia and Luna's kingdom, when every Changeling, inclused the Queen, wasn't hungry and didn't need to haunt for love. Ponies were glad and ceased any hostility towards the hive. However, that was a period of terrible wars and famine amongst civilized populations of any kind, as Honey Ponies began attacking and assaulting several countries with no appearent reason. This reason has been discovered only ages later: there exists a sort of balance between Changelings and Honey Ponies, and such equilibrium cannot be broken. So, since Changelings were "good", Honey Ponies changed their behaviour to mantain the balance and adopted aggressive and bloody demeanor until everything came back as it was.
