I can't bring myself to hate Bellwether, not at all, not even if she is a villain. Of all citizens in Zootopia, why was she picked as the twist villain?
Still love the movie, but it almost makes me wish it were Lionheart or Gazelle instead of her. Bellwether is still cute, adorable, and beautiful in my opinion. I just believe there is more than one reason behind her motives, other than what the film reveals, something they don't want anyone to know.

Well one of the reasons I think it worked so well is because she's pretty much the same as Judy, they both fought against prejudice their entire lives to get where they are, and when they arrived things really didn't get much better. The key difference was that Judy realized that everyone could be a victim, and felt it was just as unacceptable when it happened to those who had persecuted her. But Bellweather never stopped seeing herself as a victim, and when you're the victim nobody else CAN be, no matter what you do to them...
Judy came awful close to going down that path without even realizing it (the press conference scene) and I think that's what really makes a villain work, when under the right circumstances the hero could probably end up exactly where they are.

Hmm, that seems understandable. I understand movies can't tell everyone's backstory at the same time or else that would make it too long, and they save it for a graphic novel, animated short, or sequel like what they did with the Star Wars trilogy. Still I wanted to know more about Bellwether's backstory like we did with Nick and Judy, meaning who knows if she might have had it worse than them for being "easy prey" and wanted to be more than just that. At least that's how I'm seeing it. Some have it harder than others and never survive or cope with it, like others do.
At least Bellwether's life was spared in the end when she was exposed because I doubt Nick and Judy would wish the death penalty on her, when they only wanted to stop her.
