Description
A new heavy goods engine for the North Western, Erin was built by the Great Central Railway and she was one of the hardest working engines of the railway, right through to the end of Steam on British Railways.

Many years later, she was rescued from scrap and brought to Sodor and put back into full working order in order to help the Little Western in the Fat Controller's plan to extend the branch north to Harwick.

Nowadays, she helps out other engines on the heavy freight traffic and on occasion can be seen pulling the odd passenger train or two.
