Description The continued tale of Malin's Mass Effect adventures. She went into it relatively unspoiled, and STILL managed to save Mordin who was her favorite crew member. Not that I'm jealous or anything :I
And there should have been a "Commander Genocide" achievement if you managed all of this. (and here we all agree not to point out that I accidentally gave Shepard the ME1 armor in a panel where she ought to have the ME3 armor)

Champions and Heroes is a collaboration with the hard working and can also be found here championsandheroes.smackjeeves… as well as on tumblr championsandheroes.tumblr.com/

Yup but it still counts in the commander genocide death toll.

That's why I prefer to play as the paragon

Yeah...I couldn't bring myself to be Renegade, even if the results were kinda interesting...Just be Paragon and convince everyone not to be jerks to each other. That should ease your conscious some.

Haha, I play mainly renegade and have no problem with it. Then again, I was laughing when my friend Malin told me about this playthrough of hers, so my conscious is clearly not troubled by these events. Now, when I played super renegade and had to shoot Legion, that's a different story... :I

It's interesting how your POV seems to realize that it's just a game and thus you can make the harder choices but I guess that just means the creative side of my brain is working better somehow since I can't help but view the gameplay as some kind of interface where my decisions really do matter. Yes, I'm quite aware it's all comp graphics and fictional but as a creator, I can't help but try and dummy down some of the crazy stuff I do to my own OCs half the time so... killing off half the galaxy is a huge extreme to me...

I do not necessarily agree with you. When I am playing I am very much in the game, and I roleplay, letting what feels right for the character in that situation dictate what I choose to do. It has, especially for the more ruthless characters, resulted in some extreme decisions, sacrificing the few for the good of the many. However, when I am talking about the game with my friends, then it is just a game and I can certainly laugh at my friends accidentally murdering half the galaxy without intending to.

...True, I realize it's a game and that it's all for fun but I guess I can't help but think of the characters as people. As a writer, I have to put myself in my character's shoes to try and come up with the proper way to describe their perception based on the personalities I've developed for them.

Maybe I'm letting that mindset bleed through? I don't really know.

I understand perfectly, I do the same thing. Killing random NPCs can be a bit of a tall order if the mood is wrong and I'm starting to think about it too much. Doing it while playing my first Shepard, however, was not difficult because I was playing her, not myself, and she is a much harder person than I. Besides, she did what she thought was best, with the information provided. Meh.

Ah I see where you're coming from now. You were just testing the waters and got mean about it! When I first played it, I actually tried to be neutral and that just created all kinds of trouble. I guess I went the other way and try to be nice about it nowadays.

It is hard to kill off entire species but I have no sympathy for the batarians. Those guys were utter jerks no matter who it was.

Haha, I played a neutral round - no paragon or renegade choices, ever. It's the WORST decision you can do. Everyone dies, you fail constantly, and somehow you're the hope of the galaxy.
I would have liked to have a batarian crew member in ME3. They do plenty of shitty things, but that's why I think it would be interesting to get to know them a bit better, see things from their perspective, etc. Alas...

Yeah that's pretty backwards, failing yet still everyone's key to survival. Paragon all the way for me, thanks.

Oh boy, that's a can of worms you can open by yourself cuz I just might end up shooting the guy at some point.

Wrex died in her ME1 playthrough. Indeed, you can't save Mordin unless Wrex is dead and the cure to save Eve is destroyed in ME2, or he'll refuse and head into the Shroud regardless of what you say. Wreav, however, sucks at intelligence and never finds out if you betray him.

that means i have to play all the games?, just like dragon age... meh, i'd rather not install any of them, i like continuity on games, but not that much.

Ddriana In reply to Dewani90 [2013-12-24 09:46:43 +0000 UTC]

You don't have to. If you don't transfer a saved game the game has a default to fill in the past for Shepard, same with Dragon Age. Personally, the krogan genophage and how it tied into decisions made in all three games was one of the best parts of ME3 for me. I love it when my choices have actual consequences

Artificer-Urza In reply to Ddriana [2013-12-15 01:16:43 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. I never had the heart to kill Wrex, so I simply never recruited him in one playthrough. It amounted to the same thing.

I find it hard to understand why you're laughing in this comic. None of what's just happened is either funny nor good. So why the chuckle at the end there?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Ddriana In reply to Thejboy88 [2013-12-14 08:53:12 +0000 UTC]

Because I find it hilarious. I did when my friend was updating me with her Mass Effect adventures as she was playing, and I do now.

Probably because she didn't intend  to commit genocide on half the galaxy. It just... sorta happened. The un-intentionality of her actions, coupled with her expression creates humor due to the discrepancy between what occurred, and what was intended.
