Description A wee bit spoilery Star Wars the Old Republic bounty hunter fanart.
Because I was (am) upset at being forced to kill Thendys Noori, a) because Dasin, my light side bounty hunter aka Cuddle-foo, would have spared her 10 times out of 10. b) that the conversation options afterwards were completely callous about it. I ended up snapping at Mako and taking it out on her, because it was the closest thing to roleplaying I could get :I and c) the wasted potential.

Seriously though, Bioware. Theirs would have been the song of force and fire. The newbie jedi coping with her anger and grief because you killed her master in front of her, a light side bounty hunter's coping with actually killing a target in front of an innocent who cared for them for the first time, the potential turn to the dark side for the jedi, the dodging of arrest attempts, the attempts to convince her that you are frankly just a tool in this and its your employer she should be focusing on, perhaps choosing to help her get justice (and screw fellow bounty hunters over...), maybe even quitting bounty hunting...?
It would have been awesome.

In other news: Bioware, hire me (please?)

Bit of a dick move on the writers part that you end up killing her one way or another.

She was such a wasted character I feel. :/

Specially since the Bounty Hunter Class doesn't get any force sensitives. This felt like the prefect way to earn one.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!Β I was upset that the game didn't even give you the option to spare her the second time. In my headcanon, my hunter found a way anyway. I think your idea for this story is much better than the game's...
And this is a great piece of art too! The colours and textures are incredible, and I love Dasin's expression - he seems angry, but sad too... All in all, I love everything about this. Have a well-deserved favourite!

Haha thank you!
Honestly she would have made a fun companion too. But no... apparently not...

I gotta agree with this, so much waste promise here that it angers me. But you got admit, her master did almost destroyed entire Mandalorian clan which would then lead to their down fall.

Everyone Mandalorian he slew, he could been killing someones love one. It was technally an act of justice to answer calls of family members of those Mandalorians.

But overall, Yes I agree with ya

Ddriana In reply to Canderou [2016-01-05 16:03:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, technically everyone you kill has loved ones and family. Including the no-name NPCs who are just standing around. But apparently it's ok to slaughter them by the thousands, not a dark side point in sight, but whoooo not that specific character with a name, that is different ESPECIALLY if they're a jedi and could actually defend themselves? It's a bit of a logical disconnect in the game if you ask me.

It's so sad that she has to die... I never really saw the point in wrecking the ship just to get at her master anyway... but that's the job and a Bounty Hunter's got to do what a Bounty Hunter's got to do.

In any case, I agree that sparing her the second time would have been much more interesting... not that Threlis would have spared her again anyway, but that's not the point. Poor Thendys Noori just gets caught in the crossfire between Jun Seros and our Hunters

Yeah :/ The worst part is how against Dasin's character it felt, but a lot - A LOT - of things in the Bounty Hunter storyline is against his character. There's so much railroading it's painful, and I'm still at level 47 or something like that

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger In reply to Ddriana [2013-10-12 20:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Personally I found the railroading to be worst in chapter 3 after Jun Seros pulled his crap and got the Chancellor to blame everything the Empire had done over the whole game (including things that either weren't real or were from the other class stories) squarely on the Hunter, and that it forced us to work for Darth Tormen (I won't get into the acquisition of Skadge now, but that too).

The problem with the Bounty Hunter story is that you are forced to be on the Empire's side (even nominally) rather than being true neutral and getting the option to work for the Republic too.

I amΒ ok with being on the Empire's side as a bounty hunter, in part because I understand it is easier for them to build a game that way and in part because there's plenty of opportunity to justify it plotwise (they pay better, you have a long term thing, your contacts are mainly Empire, etc). Unfortunately, they chose to railroad us thoroughly instead... which breeds frustration :I

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger In reply to Ddriana [2013-10-16 20:22:39 +0000 UTC]

Given that Mandalore is supporting the Empire, and the Great Hunt is hosted by the Mandalorians, that does indeed justify you starting slightly towards the Imperial side (even if you're indifferent towards the Empire, you have to operate within their territory, which becomes easier the more valuable you are to them) but it would still be better to have more choices.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ddriana In reply to Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger [2013-10-20 11:34:08 +0000 UTC]

True. Though I also have my headcanon that Dasin is still very much chiss, and pro-Ascendancy, and thus feels some degree of obligation to side with the Empire. Not enough to be a horrible person and hurt civilians but you know... still.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger In reply to Ddriana [2013-10-23 21:02:59 +0000 UTC]

I don't remember any particularly good reasons for the Chiss to side with the Empire... especially because all the earlier Star Wars galaxy maps put the Ascendancy in a different quadrant to the Sith Empire so there shouldn't be any "they're closer so it's better to seem useful than threatening"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ddriana In reply to Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger [2013-10-30 17:41:33 +0000 UTC]

As far as I've come to understand it, the Empire stumbled upon them, gave them the usual option of 'join peacefully or in chains' and to their great surprise the chiss agreed without putting up a fight. And later in the series they abandon the Empire and join the Republic, if I remember correctly they are mid-talks during the movie period and are thus not allied to either side. But I would like to point out that my memory is not perfect so...

Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger In reply to Ddriana [2013-10-31 23:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, whatever they do in the tOR time period is long forgotten by the time of the movies as they're off doing their own thing even when Thrawn joins Palpatine's Empire.

Aqura spared her because she wasn't a threat, and she didn't deserve to die. When Thendys came after Aqura, however, she used up her one chance. She should've waited a few years and become stronger if she couldn't follow Aqura's advice and do the Jedi thing by letting go of her anger. At least then she would've done her master proud.

Now I'm imagining a reworking of the courtroom scenes from KotOR1, and given that the next planet is Belsavis, being sent to prison there just before the planet-wide riots that kick of both factions' stories down there would have been perfect.

hmm... I just remembered a problem with my "Agree to stand trial then end up getting sent to Belsavis just before the riots" suggestion.

Thendys trying to arrest us is on Quesh... which means the next planet would be Hoth, not Belsavis. We can't skip Hoth. Hoth is too much like home for Chiss... and it gives us Blizz

Ddriana In reply to Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger [2013-10-30 17:39:03 +0000 UTC]

Well! Nothing stopping you from Thendys attempting to arrest you on Hoth instead XD

And yes, Hoth Though I felt more welcomed and at home there as a chiss agent than I did as a chiss bounty hunter. It made me a bit sad because I was expecting a similar welcoming.

Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger In reply to Ddriana [2013-10-31 23:31:42 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps the Chiss that are on Hoth consider their people who are in Imperial Intelligence to be more worthy and useful than those that act as mercenaries.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ddriana In reply to Zoe-the-Pink-Ranger [2013-11-02 07:41:26 +0000 UTC]

Probably. I mean, as part of Imperial Intelligence you are working a respectable job, while a bounty hunter is probably a renegade of some kind. Though I would much rather have that addressed than ignored as it was. Dasin would have liked to be able to assure his fellow chiss that he was definitely one of them still.

Wait, that's why he's carrying it, it won't fade away until the merchant takes off the equipment and he is running out with the credits!
Besides, it would be horrible to be a janitor in a video game if the bodies didn't fade away.
