Description
Located on the seawall of English bay here in Vancouver,BC. "inuk shuk" ... this statue made from rocks stands about 20 feet high (give or take a foot) . I took this shot with the sun to the back of the statue... standing rather close but low, accentuating the height of it against the blue sky backdrop...Enjoy...

And here I was going all the way up north to take pics of these things... now I know I can just head down to English Bay! *grin*
Love the fact that you managed detail within the dark portions of the Inukshuk... really adds a lot of atmosphere instead of it being just a silhouette. The sky, as mentioned before, is awesome. The wisps of clouds really give some depth to this image.
Great use of a lower angle as well, to give more power to the 'shuk. Looks very strong and foreboding hanging over the frame like this!

I like the way that the structure almost appears as a silhouette; with the colour of the sky standing out comparatively.
I also quite like the way the image is balanced with the left side focused on the sky, and the right on the statue.

hehe... I had to do some slight adjustments to get the sky to stand out more... nothing major.. just a few level and curve tweaks here and there.

where is this by the way? Last time I was at the seawall ... but I haven't seen this... is this way down to the trail heading towards Canada Place, or the opposite direction?
Last time when I was at Seawall taking my bro's pics... I was at the fountain, but didn't go down any further..... I would love to see this thing.. haha...

It's ... more on the english bay side... where the fireworks are during the summer... just off of denman , along pac. blvd, near the beaches and such... can't miss it
