it's strange, yet a glorious mixture of colours. It has a fire in it that would be hard to extinguish...De Profundis..."from the depths", right?

hmm... just tried to comment, but it didnt work. anyway, i was saying that i really like the layering of paint. the white skin over the red... very nice. even more i enjoy the scratches and marks in the paint. if i had one suggestion to make, i would say that the compostion is just a little "floaty" for me, but maybe that just personal taste. you should do a series of these so you can play with composition and everything else as much as you want.

nice layering of paint. i like the bits where you can just glimpse the red behind a skin of white. also, i REALLY enjoy the scratches and marks in the paint. that kind of thing makes me feel all fuzzy inside (or maybe that just paint fumes)... wish i could see the original. if i had one sugesstion to make... i would just say that the composition is a little "floaty" for me, but that might just be personal taste. anyway, you should do a whole series of these! that way you could play more with things like composition and whatnot.

That's so yummy! It looks like sherbert and vanilla. I think you could get more depth if you really push the contrast and texture. Although, I guess it's hard with stuff like this because you can go too far and mess it up, huh? Y'know, it would be really, really cool if you did one of these with all the abstracted yumminess and texture and then painted a really realistic portrait on top, or something. Just a suggestion.

Wow. This looks as though it is very textured - is it textured to the feel? Snazzy colours, the red looks almost like blood.
