Description "Those lacking trouble should get a goat."
- Moorish proverb

I want a goat. [link] (Any help would be appreciated. ) I'm currently doing goat homework and found the above saying in a research book. Seemed fitting.

The breeds I'm most familiar with: Alpine, Nubian and Boer.

Art is mine.

If I recall, you mentioned something about making goat cheese previously? If not, sorry I'm mistaken. If so, could you share some tips?

By the way, feeling better?

I have indeed made goat cheese and it can be quite easy! To get your feet wet, I'd get a Chevre starter and try that ([link] has them). It's like making yogurt -- and if you haven't made yogurt, do that first, you'll use a lot of the same steps -- and you don't need a whole lot of special tools. It can also be frozen (you end up with a lot). That same site sells the definitive home cheesemaking book, too, so look for that. The key to any of the cheeses is patience -- and cleanliness.

Next easiest would probably be mozerella (though I'd recommend trying that one with cow's milk first; the lipase in goat's milk can make it come out oddly), which can be done with a quick recipe and is extremely hard to not eat all up while it's still hot and fresh.

Then if you want to get really into it, try feta. It's a good cheese for introducing to water baths and curd cutting/cooking.

And if you're crazy, you can do a hard cheese, like cheddar. But most of those are cow or sheep milk, and they're a real pain to age if you don't live in an old house with a proper root cellar.

I've done all four. I though I'd screwed up the cheddar, but I recently had a white English reserve cheddar that tasted just like it, nice and sharp

I have been feeling a littler better, but not particularly artsy. I'm putting some energy into a possible Wolf site redesign, though, so maybe that's promising.

I love them! So much variety in the long and short-eared goats too. :aww; I love their little eyebrows. XD

These would look so great in a children's book!

My bro said they reminded him of an anime. But I'm stumped as to which one he meant. He couldn't remember either.

I don't watch much anime (I've only seen a few movies here and there and know the names of some of the series), so I'm afraid I don't know either!
