I've never really drawn any mythical creatures, if you will, but I'd heard from various sources that the unicorn myth was inspired by ibex, Arabian oryx and the wild ass. So the equine elements in these guys' designs are more donkey than horse. Oh yeah, and the golden dude (lady?) is inspired by Harry Potter in which Hagrid says that unicorn colts are more golden colored. (I'm paraphrasing, of course.)Art, me.
