Most people think Marv is crazy, but I don't believe that.I'm no shrink and I'm not saying I've got Marv all figured out or anything, but "crazy" just doesn't explain him. Not to me. Sometimes I think he's retarded, a big, brutal kid who never learned the ground rules about how people are supposed to act around each other. But that doesn't have the right ring to it either.
No, it's more like there's nothing wrong with Marv, nothing at all-- except that he had the rotten luck of being born at the wrong time in history. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield, swinging an ax into somebody's face. Or in a roman arena, taking a sword to other gladiators like him.
They'd have tossed him girls like Nancy, back then.

P.S. The majesty that will be SIN CITY directed by the Man Robert Rodriguez, the Man Frank Miller and guest director, the Miggity-Man, Quentin Tarantino opens on April 1st. Goddamn it you all better be there supporting great moments in history like this one.

Hey John, was just lookin through your gallery for this specific piece. The movie STILL hasnt come out in Australia, so i "found" a copy and have since introduced all my friends to it as well. The consesus was that it is the best "comic" to film movie ever made. I loved it, and i think this piece of yours is fantastic, captures Marv perfectly. Matter of fact, im gonna fav it. Dont spose you feel like doin one of hartigan as well?

I have to agree with TheABones, you should probably gray the bandages... no that wouldn't fit the style... Hatch them or something to make them darker then the foreground and reduce the contrast. They're just a bit too distracting.
But, yeah right on! Hopefully they'll have this one down at the Grand Lake, but if not I'll still find a way to see it.

Anguished cry of Australian! Apparently it'll be here on May 12, but I've been shitted off by movies before - like Hellboy. I bought a completely legit US DVD of Hellboy, which shipped two weeks late, and it still beat Hellboy opening at Australian theatres by three days.

i apriciate the style and heavy shaddowing. it looks very cool, but i do like the foreground figure a lot more than the silouete in the back. it actually took me a bit of time to figure out what was going on back there. maybe it's just me. it's a cool piece though
