“We didn't realize what we had done until it was too late. We thought we were creating a utopia, a world without pain or sorrow, a place where even the lowliest and deceitful of beings could find happiness. But we were wrong to do so. In the darkest of shadows they came, beings of living hunger with stomachs that never seem to become full began to ravage our lands. At first they were few, and only ventured near our crops and fields to feast, we should have tried to stop them then and there but they quickly ravaged our farms beyond repair and then turned their attention to our towns and cities.

We tried everything, from heavy artillery to germ warfare, even are most destructive of weapons could not impede their path. It seemed like for every one we killed, fifty would take their place.

We hated them, feared them, loathed THEM!!!! But in our hearts we knew we had created this plague, though we would have liked to have believed otherwise. We had allowed them to enter our environment without any forethought of the catastrophe they could ensue, and through are thoughts of virtue they were able to take their first steps towards our destruction. Now we are but the lowest of demotes, being hunted and killed in the very cities we had created for peace. Nothing has been able to stop them, even the planets own intervention ended in failure. Please, someone anyone, help us, save us from our destruction. Please God, send us an angel.”

From the journal of Jor Gagan, an inhabitant of Zin La whose prayer was answered after his untimely demise

Bio:

The Ratorma or 'Tortormias Maimordia' on their native world of Tipin, were relatively peaceful and quiet creatures before coming to Zin La. On their homeworld they were generally used as beasts of burden by the dominant species and had been domesticated to be used to help cultivate the land for farming purposes, a grueling process since the planet had created a harsh ecosystem that rarely produced much. Still their was a thriving population that had evolved to be capable of living in their respective environments and the equilibrium of predator and prey was in abundance because of it. It was unfortunate then that the planet was eventually attacked and consumed by Destrophus and the dominant life forms were forced to evacuate from their homeworld to find a new one. Though many species were wiped out, the Tipins were able to save a handful of their native species, including the Ratorma, and eventually made their way to the planet known as Zin La.

Once on Zin La, the Tipins found that they no longer had a need for the Ratorma as every agricultural need had already been established by automated machinery and so the Ratorma (after some coercing by the natives of Zin La) were set free by their owners into the wilds of the planets grasslands. Relatively domesticated from generations of specific breeding the Ratorma were at first somewhat outclassed by the already established species. However, being true beasts of ingenuity, the Ratorma were found to be able to reproduce at an astounding rate in their new environment and quickly began to consume every viable resource they could.

After a point, it became apparent that the Ratorma had become a problem to Zin La’s ecosystem. Yet, the government of the planet was confidant that they could handle the threat and were able to keep the Ratorma in check with a specific strand of virus that targeted their species.

It worked.......... for a time.

Though greatly decreased in number, Ratorma were eventually able to overcome the virus effect thanks to their rampant breeding cycle, and worse still were becoming bolder in their search for food and were quietly finding their way into populated areas. At first they merely scavenged for food among whatever little trash they could find, staying clear away from anyone who came close to them. However, news started springing up from across every major city of civilians turning up missing, no bodies ever to be found, only more and more Ratorma.

The people of Zin La had finally had enough and began a global genocide of the species. The Ratorma at first rarely defended themselves from these attacks, but eventually their fight or flight response set in and many of them (out of hunger) chose the former. Their feral instincts fully suppressing the many generations of domestication, the Ratorma began to openly hunt and devour anything and anyone they could.

10 years had passed since the Ratorma were first introduced to Zin La, and in that time they had decimated every other species on the planets land masses. Now, only a mere handful of others live on the harsh landscape. Those who could have already abandoned the planet, and for those left behind, they can only hope for a miracle that something will be able help them in their time of need.

Abilities/Aspects:
- Powerful jaws and teeth capable eating/gnawing through almost any kind of material
- Omnivorous, capable of eating various types of food regardless of age and/or nutrientional value
- Have become aggressive scavengers due to food shortage, have even resorted to cannibalism
- Strong claws and muscularity able to perform feats of agility with little effort (males develop enlarged hind-leg claw for dueling and mating rights)
- Breeds at a remarkable rate in right environment (females can give birth to five to nine pups and maintain them with little assistance)
- Quick maturity rate able to become full adults in less than a year
- Nearly an endless swarm of them have ravaged the planets surface in a short time span
- Naturally passive alone but become highly aggressive in packs (mob mentality)

Ah, a swarm based kaiju emerges. Though the rat motif is obvious, they are still fairly alien and actually have some resemblance to their supposedly more domesitc role before their population exploded. I like how you managed to convey so many in one picture and give them each a bit of individuality with the missing toes, broken teeth, etc.

I don't really consider the ratorma kaiju since their neither over sized animals or mutated creatures. They are simply a species introduced to an environment that allowed them to flourish to the point of overpopulation. I didn't really wish to create something overly 'alien' (whatever thats supposed to mean) and I have several different sketches and design created that would be considered more extraterrestrial but in the end I decided to go with something more toned down.

Nice. They remind me of the Gorganopsids from before the dinosaurs appeared on earth.
