Y...yes, but there is more to it.
Back in 2014, there was a gameplay of Pokémon Red in Twitch. The game was controlled via imputs of the chat, which made controlling the character more a matter of luck than anything else.
It would happen very often that the chat would make the character try to 'use' the Helix Fossil it was carrying, which read by the chat as the player asking the fossil for directions, as if it were a divine being.
And thus, Lord Helix was born.
