Description That is the year she was born. According to gran wrinkles are only a work of art if they are NOT your own. Needless to say she HATES what I did with this photo. Don’t worry though. I did another one just for her – taken outside, in color and nicely softened and all the people in the assisted living apartments where she lives told her she looked like a movie star.

BTW this was shot using a 50mm 1.8 canon lens at 1.8 1/160 by window light. Converted to black in white in photoshop and I ran the lucisart filter on it to pop the wrinkles.

Oh and this is my great grandmother & my kids great, great grandmother. Dang she's old.

Beautiful shot. Where was she born? In particular, where was she during the first world war? Just curious.

Nope, I'm not sure if she was never called back or the fact that she met my grandfather for the first time walking home from the interview was the reason she never was. I know you had to sign a contract to not get married. I also know she was very young and living on her own. Girls only went to as far as the 8th grade back then.

Its so weird. In a way, it wasnt that long ago but its sooo different.

I suppose being a Harvey Girl was for the ladies who had no other prospects at the time. But it sounds like she got a better offer either way. Its neat to hear stuff like this.

Hi D,
This is my busy time of year between weddings and portraits so I've been heads down running. I had things in my gallery but I only keep them there for about 30 days or so then take them out.
Baby Boo is getting bigger and is now 4 1/2 going on 14. Also she will be a big sister in Feb. Keep you posted on that one.
How's everyone at your place? Bet Maddie is growing like a weed as well.
Take care D and I hope you and yours are well.
Joe
