Hi, is it okay if I used these colors for a sort of set of standards I'm making for people who use my bases? I'll credit you and link it back to this work as well as your page.

I'm not very good with skin colors yet and I want to be of more help to the deviants who use my works.

I will totally understand if you won't allow me. ^-^

I don’t quite understand the question. You want to use my colour swatches to make your own set?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FriedSiomaiRice In reply to DeathRattleSnake [2011-09-02 14:53:37 +0000 UTC]

Um, I guess what I meant was that I wanted to use your colors and display them differently.

I forgot to mention that I will include them along with sets for different eye colors, which I will make myself.

It will sort of be a color set for pixel artists/cel shaders.

how you make the degrade?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeathRattleSnake In reply to mudjai [2011-04-13 12:04:26 +0000 UTC]

Use the mid tone as the flat colour. I then used a feathered brush and then tweaked with opacity and flow, then slowly built up giving the even flow with the gradient, with the other two colours.

Hope that helps.

Ugh I always have so much trouble finding the right colors for skin tones in photoshop. Thanks so much! It will be very helpful.

DeathRattleSnake In reply to ThrivingEccentric [2010-08-28 21:43:42 +0000 UTC]

It's ok, it took me ages to get what I wanted as well. On some of my other characters I have up to 8/9 tones on their skin then another 14 on the cloths. But the more colour tones help highlighting everything out and making it all pop more.

May post up more colour tones for clothing and skin.

I used your skin tones to color [link] <- that. I don't work much in realism so the 3 shade thing works well for me. Thanks!

I'll keep my eyes peeled ^^

Well for most of my latest characters skin colour are just the three of what skin ball I use. It the way you use the brush tool to make the colours blend, to give that look of realism. Just keep at it and you will build your own techniques. Took me many attempts, many pics I look back on and go OMG i could do so much better now lol.

Well enjoy the colours.

Vinnie14 In reply to DeathRattleSnake [2010-05-14 23:31:32 +0000 UTC]

yeah i checked it out Adonis is freaking amazing.
Im doing good im hanging in there. I am having trouble doing 3d animation, its not the kind of work i wanna do as a career its not much to learn using max and maya. I hope to do concept art instead.
How about you?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DeathRattleSnake In reply to Vinnie14 [2010-05-15 00:41:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah he is.... yeah well im back at harrow college now re-taking FAD, i dropped out then went out in the real world workin from job to job and it sucked so i had to go bk and re-do FAD to go uni. I want to do 3D Animation, i already kno bits of maya and im really lookin forward to it. I hope to go to Herts Uni.

What part of concept? Characters? Scenery?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vinnie14 In reply to DeathRattleSnake [2010-05-15 01:15:26 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't mind doing both. I enjoy both. What hope to get is that corel painter and a tablet so i could practice digital painting. there are so many talented concept artists that use that program and thats the kind of stuff i would really like to do. As much as im more of a traditional artist i like to get good on the digital side too.

Ah man sorry to hear that but im sure you will get in at Herts. Once you show them many life drawings showing that you can capture realism they would like you in their 3d animation program. I know much of the basics for Max but i havent experienced Maya as much which i am having a harder time grasping. I always get confused when using the hotkeys on Maya because i used to them in Max.

Have you tried Zbrush? that program is really high class its like digital scuplture
