Description
Thunder boomed overhead as a storm raged in the sky. At first, Garp thought the knocking at his door was only the thunder, but when the sound continued he realized what it was. Garp opened his door and looked down with a frown. On his doorstep stood a soaking wet young girl, her hand paused mid-knock.

"Are you Mr. Garp?" She asked. He nodded and crouched down to be closer to her eye level.

"I am, and who are you?" He replied. The young girl blinked up at him before reaching into the pocket of her well worn dress and pulling out a slip of paper.

"I'm (Y/N), my mommy told me to give you this." (Y/N) told him as she handed him the paper. Garp opened the paper and his frown deepened.

'This is my daughter, (Y/N). I cannot take care of her anymore. Do with her what you wish. I don't care.'

He glanced over to where the girl stood. Her (H/C) hair was sopping wet as were her clothes, if you could call them that. They looked like rags that had been haphazardly stitched together into the form of a dress. 'What kind of parent would abandon their child like this?' Thought Garp. 'But then again, it's not the first time I've seen something like this.'

"Mister, is something wrong?" (Y/N) asked, gently tugging on his sleeve.

Garp forced a smile. "No, no. The note just says your mom is going away for a little while."

"Away?" She asked slowly. "Then, am I staying here?"

". . .No kiddo," Said Garp before catching sight of the girl's frown. He placed his hand on her head and ruffled her hair. "Hey, don't worry! I have the perfect place for you to stay." (Y/N) smiled slightly, not used to such affectionate actions.

"Okay." She said with a nod.

Garp grinned and opened his door wider. "Then let's get you out of the rain, you look soaked to the bone." (Y/N) allowed him to guide her into his house, sparring one last glance at the stormy sky.
