Description *Bernardumaine and I decided to collaborate on a project. Four days ago I received a package from France. In it was a drawing covered very tightly with a stiff board, exposing only about 3 cm of his drawing and the rest of the right side of the paper was blank. I took it from there and finished the right side. this is the result!

I absolutely love what you did with your side of this piece, it's very different from his side but still fits together very well. You both work very well together.

some admin told me that i couldnt have work in the gallery and ask people not to fave, that i should use my faves gallery, so i dumped the gallery. so a new admin comes along and tells me i will be banned if i fave member's images.... and so i am having to re post all the corpses in the main gallery all over again, who did what side, with links to the artists etc....and i always adjust the contrast etc. it has been over 6 hours now and i am not half finished.

But all clubs ask you not to fav, very strange and a heck of a lot of work for you!!

yes so much work!!! but in a way it is good, as i can improve all the submissions, make them framed and ajust the levels for contrast.

Wonderful, you didn't have to say which side of the piece was yours, you stlye is so organic and distinctive (is this the influence of the garden!). Bernardumaine has got such a photographic drawing stlye and the images merge into one another perfectly, these collaboration pieces intreague me so much

i think the transition could have been more smooth, as it is at the top of the paper with the wall turning into a stalk. on the lower part of the paper one can clearly see where he ends and you begin. other than that, i find this to be an incredibly interesting piece! very beautiful, i love the contrast between the harsh building environment and your swirling, vivid flowers. it makes me think of M.C. Escher, a very talented graphic surreal artist. i would like to see more of this kind of drawings. keep it up!

Deborah-Valentine In reply to meandermind [2005-07-06 23:21:57 +0000 UTC]

escher was an illustrator and technical draftsman. some call his work surreal but he was ahead of the surrealists chronologicly and was never concidered one of them. [link]

Christ on a carousel. Just lookit this piece.

More collaborations btwn the two of you, please? It works. Definitely. One of the best pencil works I've seen in DA so far & that speaks volumes. The composition works, the technique(s) are flawless, the themes, everything.

This collaboration gets the rarely awarded:

(Most work I rate gets 3.5 to 4 stars.)

This merits a mention in my journal, too.
