Description
The sun was slowly setting, the world begining to prepare for the long night. It as was still getting a bit chilly at night and when it mixed with the warmth of the day it caused some mist to rise upwards. The cattle had just been closed into the night pasture. Now they would have to wait patiently to be let out to roam the seemingly never ending daypasture in the morning. They did not know it but their kind was lucky. They got to get out every day and only kept behind the somewhat security of the fence at night. It was nothing like their far less hairy cousins that hardly saw any fresh air at all, kept in large factory looking barns. They spent their entire life in there, and at best they got a little bit of freedom not being chained up, and got to interact with their other unlucky sisters. However some in the hairy herd of free roamers were more freedomloving than others and did not understand the dangers of not keeping to the herd - especially as dark fell. Therefor the herd beside the fenced area also had fourfooted protectors.

Suddenly the misty air was broken by a sad sounding moo - soon to be answered by the herd behind the bars. The mist parted and revealed one of the protectors, pied in color. After it came the three that had hoped to be able to spend the night on the outside. Tetora had taken the lead. Like all cattle they followed a highranked member in the herd, and the tokotas had put themself in such respect the cattle saw both as their leaders. The cow last in the row stopped, perhaps it thought of making a last run for it. Then a second protector Barcelona, almost looking like a oversized german shephard, emerged from the mist and there was a bit of a staredown. The red cow licked her nose and then with a deep sigh continued to walk forward again, following the others. It was not any use to put up a protest. At least not tonight. But there was always tomorrow. Perhaps they would be more lucky then.
